Well for out Thursday Home school group this month it was my turn to host. I like to do a science lesson. I also waned to have the kids do Christmas cookies. I have done lessons before on how heat works with the cooking process so that was out. So I started to search the internet for some ideas. I found an article about how the egg of a caterpillar is the size of a piece of sugar (the sugar for sugar cookies) Cool! That was going to be this weeks project. I printed out some pictures and talked about the life cycle of a butterfly from egg to butterfly. While they were decorating cookies I told them to remember that the size of the colored sugar is the size of the egg. It is so great when homeschooling that you can turn any fun project into a school lesson.
