Fun! Felt Food Craft

Even the crafty impaired can do this. Making play food out of felt is really relaxing and the kids will thank you for it. I even had my 6 year old helping sew. This is a great project to introduce sewing to little ones. Here is an easy one that I just came up with out of my head, no template needed.
Pancake with syrup and butter

Need:
Tan felt
Brown felt
Yellow felt
Brown embroidery floss
Yellow embroidery floss

1. make two circles from the tan felt
2. Cut a random syrup shape from the brown felt
3. Make a small square from the yellow felt
4. Sew the syrup with the brown embroidery floss  to one side of the pancake
5. Sew the butter with the yellow embroidery floss to the syrup
6. Sew the bottom circle on using a blanket stitch to give you a pretty edge. Here is a link on how to do a blanket stitch. Or you can just sew it on the standard way.

Here are some other felt food items I made. I used a template from a really cute site called Wee Folk Art. Template for fried eggs and bacon felt food.
